The I Can Make a Difference Doctors and Medical Practitioners Group has secured a court victory against the South African Health Products Regulartory Authority over the prescribing and manufacturing of medicines containing ivermectin. A member of the group, dr. Naseeba Kathrada says they are excited about the court ruling but the hard work is only just beginning. Ivermectin is used to prevent and treat Covid-19.

A City of Cape Town supervisor and crew driver have been shot by a group of teenagers who robbed him and his crew while they were fixing a sewer pipe in Samora Machel. The bullet narrowly missed his spine, but he now needs to have emergency surgery. The teenagers stole their wallets and cellphones. The mayoral committee member for water and sanitation, Xanthea Limberg, has condemned the attack.

Police have confirmed that the owner of an Eastern Cape guesthouse has been arrested, a year after two of his guests were found dead in a shower in his establishment. Mari Hoon (28) & Jean Vosloo (25) were staying at an Eastern Cape guest farm near Kareedouw in March 2020, when their friend found their bodies in a shower, in April 2020. A toxicology report revealed that the couple died of carbon monoxide poisoning.
