The fire in Kogmanskloof above Ashton and Montagu is still burning. Cape Winelands District Municipality firefighters, together with its partner CapeNature, say the fire is burning in a broken line across the mountaintops and occasionally flaring up in more accessible areas. They will continue active firefighting operations for the next 24 hours.
