The 35-year old, Funiwe Nkebe reportedly died in hospital after collapsing in the Las Vegas Spur in East London’s Hemingway’s Mall, while on duty.

According to the EFF, Nkebe was allegedly forced to go to work, despite calling in sick.

The party stormed the restaurant on Tuesday, and shut it down.

An EFF-spokesperson said the restaurant had now agreed to pay for the full costs of Nkebe’s funeral, cover school fees for his two minor children until they finish Matric, and provide counselling for all of the outlet’s employees.

The restaurant also agreed to pay Nkebe’s full severance package, annual leave and a month’s full salary.
