The Deputy Minister of Employment and Labour Boitumelo Moloi has been hospitalised with Covid-19. Moloi was hospitalised on Tuesday and received a positive result on Wednesday. She remains in hospital. Meanwhile, her counterpart in Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Obed Bapela, has also tested positive for Covid-19. Bapela tested positive after showing symptoms. He is in self-quarantine. It was Bapela's fourth test for the coronavirus since the outbreak of the pandemic.

2 church leaders and a congregant were arrested in Sebokeng yesterday after police fired rubber bullets and stun grenades to disperse a group of about 250 church-goers in contravention of lock-down regulations. SAPS were called out to a church in Sebokeng Zone 7, where a group of about 250 people had gathered and allegedly refused to leave. Police responded with rubber bullets and stun grenades to disperse the group.

The South African National Defence Force has since last week been deployed to parts of the Western Cape to support local law enforcement in identified hotspots. They’ve been in the Cape Town metro since Tuesday and from Saturday, in the Garden Route. The deployments focus on the Disaster Management Act regulations.
