The City’s JP Smith praised a woman from Lotus River after she rescued a little boy from drowning last week. Smith got the opportunity to meet Yaseerah Nelson earlier this week. She came to the rescue of a little boy, who, during the latest heavy rains last week, which had caused floods in some areas, had become stuck in the water.

 

“I hope her bravery will inspire more Capetonians to step up and help make our City better,” Smith added.

A video of the incident was shared on social media, and many Capetonians were touched by her bravery. Smith, the City’s Safety and Security Chief, JP Smith, has hailed her for her heroic efforts after she rescued the little boy from drowning.
