The City of Cape Town’s law enforcement officers were able to arrest more than 80 suspects in the past week, for various offenses.

According to the Western Cape Community Safety Department, the City’s LEAP officers arrested 47 suspects for possession of illegal drugs. Twelve were arrested for being in possession of illegal firearms, 5 for possession of illegal ammunition, and four people were arrested for possession of counterfeit or imitation firearms. Two suspects were arrested for trading in liquor without a license  and one suspect was arrested for hijacking a vehicle.
