I remember as a kid, sitting in my grandma’s flat on the farm, she has just bought a big TV, the only way I could describe it was that it looked like a boulder, a big one, it had a huge screen, it was probably one of the first Big screen TV’s, far from a flat screen though, its boulder like appearance took up quite a bit of space in the living room! But I did enjoy watching cartoons on it, it was my favourite school holiday past time after a long day helping granddad in the workshop. And when The Jetsons came on, I was hooked, the high tech, the futuristic buildings and….the flying cars…
Although that was just a dream back then and the world thought it to be impossible and only good in children’s stories, advancements in the tech field proved otherwise!
Electric vehicles are now mainstream and drone technology has come to a point where companies are starting to test autonomous drone taxi’s around the world. This industry will definitely take flight soon, and Porsche and Boeing want in on the coming rush, especially by the rich. They have announced they will be working together to build flying cars for the wealthy.
In this week’s Tech Tuesday segment with Theunis Janse van Rensburg, we chat about the partnership and what it could mean for the industry as a whole.
