A local football club is headed to Madrid to compete in a prestigious tournament. Shosholoza FC will be participating in the 2024 MadCup International Tournament being held June 21-26 in Madrid, Spain. We spoke to one of the volunteers making it possible – Alberto Arogoneses.

Shosholoza FC was started by a group of retired international ex-professional footballers who wanted to create a unique social enterprise, with the goal of introducing Cape Town youth to careers in sports, as well as developing future professional athletes. They will be taking two teams, an U12 Team as well as an U16 Team, accompanied by a coaching staff to the 2024 Madcup International tournament. In total they’ll be taking 26 players.

Shosholoza FC will be the first South African Club to participate in this prestigious youth football tournament. If you’d like to help the club you can visit their website and and also follow them on social media – @shosholozafc.
