Afrikaans rapper, Angie oeh (24) died on Saturday at Life Wilgers Hospital in Pretoria. Born Angelique Eurika Greeff, she died following a recent Stage 4 lung cancer diagnosis.
Angie’s friend and manager, Wynand Myburgh, confirmed the artist’s death to News24.
The mumble rapper was first diagnosed with sarcoma, a type of cancerous tumour, in December 2021. The tumour, which was the size of a baseball, was removed last year. Less than two years later, she suffered yet another cancer diagnosis.

Six days ago, Angie took to social media to share how scared she felt about suffering with cancer at 24, and the ‘life-changing’ treatments ahead of her.

‘Our dearest Angie is gone’
Following her cancer announcement, a Back-a-Buddy campaign was started to raise funds for her treatment. Family, friends and fans banded together to raise some R270,000 for the 24-year-old. However, just days after the money was raised, Angie died. Surrounded by loved ones.
“It is very sad and very terrible to lose Angie at such a young age,” said Myburgh. “Those who met her or have worked with her, will know how wonderful and special she was…We are not only losing a South African gem, but also a very special friend and partner,” he said reports News 24.
Angie has collaborated with the likes of Biggy, Loufi, Peach van Pletzen and Jack Parow.

Fellow musician and friend, Pierre-Henri ‘Peach’ van Pletzen shared his heartfelt wishes for Angie with The Citizen.
“Our dearest Angie is gone. She died yesterday, 19 Aug, at 17:24 in Pretoria at the age of 24. Her partner, mother and I were with her until the end and she was not in pain,” he said. “Under that seemingly tough exterior was one of the softest and most beautiful people I’ve ever met. Life is so fragile and unpredictable”.
