It is finally here. The day most matriculants all have been anticipating. After 12 years of buzzing alarm clocks, looming finals and exams, missing pencils and pens and endless group projects – it is time for the matric-class of 2019 to hang up their school attire. The Smile 90.4 fm team visited Table View High School on the last day of the examinations and spoke to a few matriculants. We asked them  what was some of the highlights of their high school careers and what’s next for them.

18 year old Shailin Singh says, “If high school has taught me something, it’s that our friends and the people we surround ourselves with have a tremendous influence on our beliefs and actions. I am forever grateful for the teachers and especially my brother, who assisted me during my high school years.” 

18 year old Megan Mancuis says,  The highlight of my high school years would be the amazing friendships and bonds I formed with the teachers. Matric was definitely a wonderful experience for me –  with some ups and some downs.

19 year old Micheal Heydenricht says, I still can’t believe that my school career is finally over, but I am sure that everything will become a reality when the school holidays are over. 

The 2019 National Senior Certificate examinations  concluded on 28 November 2019 and the Minister of Basic Education, Angie Motshekga will announce the outcome of the examinations during the first week of January 2020.
