The President of SA Rugby, Mark Alexander, is the latest individual to come forward condemning the violence at Milnerton High School that recently surfaced.
In a statement, Alexander expressed his “deep concern and unequivocal condemnation” after viewing a video circulating on social media, in which a group of teenage boys are seen attacking another learner with various objects.

“This type of behaviour has no place in society and would never be tolerated in a rugby environment,”said Alexander.
This follows revelations that one of the alleged perpetrators had been gaining prominence in the sports arena.
Alexander said he was made aware that the teenager represented South Africa on a national level in school rugby.
“It is unfortunate and unfair that a schoolyard incident has been linked to our sport, but we take this opportunity to underline rugby’s values. Our sport teaches discipline, humility and empathy—values that are foundational to a child’s development and to the spirit of our sport.”
He further noted that the type of behaviour seen in the video would never be tolerated in the rugby environment, adding that people who partake in bullying are “not welcome in our sport”.
“I urge all young men and women aspiring to build a future in rugby to heed this warning: bullying is totally unacceptable.”
