South African producers have been able to rise to the challenge, ramping up their production-output, to ensure that sufficient P.P.E and other products were manufactured locally to be used in the country’s fight against Covid-19.
This, according to Trade and Industry Minister, Ebrahim Patel who yesterday participated in the 9th annual Proudly South African Buy Local Summit & Expo.
He says local manufacturers have shown great resilience over the past year to ensure that South Africa overcomes the product-shortages that were brought about by the closure of international borders.
“We need to demonstrate that buying local is about investing in quality, in sustaining local businesses, and in keeping jobs at home. ” – President Cyril Ramaphosa
