Road closures for the Opening of Parliament

Published on

Capetonians have been advised to take note of the road closures that will be in place for the Opening of Parliament on Thursday 18 July.

President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to outline the priorities for the 7th administration in a televised address starting at 19h00.

The road closures will be in effect to assist with traffic flow and accommodate the Opening of the 7th Parliament Address at the City Hall.

This will affect the normal flow of traffic in and around the city bowl.

Road users are requested to acquaint themselves with the closures and to plan their routes accordingly.

Motorists should also note that there will be restricted parking in some areas.

Some road closures will be in place until 26 July.

This is as the debate on the Opening Address will take place on 19 July, from 10:00 to 20:00.

Ramaphosa will respond to the debate on the afternoon of 22 July.

In the morning, the National Assembly will debate Parliament’s budget vote.
