Three of the music industry’s heavy hitters are returning to the scene. Rihanna, Beyoncé and Taylor Swift are seemingly gearing up for stadium tours next year. Could the return of these powerhouses be a reprieve for the ailing music industry? According to the music magazine Billboard, the music industry is saturated with too many songs yet too few hits.
Let’s take a look at how Taylor Swift, Beyoncé and Rihanna could save the music industry and the reason for fans to start hyping their possible tours.
Filling a Blank Space…
Taylor Swift is currently riding the wave of her latest Midnights album. It landed her an 11th No.1 album on the Billboard 200 chart, with the biggest week for any album in nearly seven years. The last album to land such an achievement was the debut of Adele’s 25. According to Billboard, it bowed with 3,482 million units (Dec. 12, 2015 – dated chart).
Midnights is Swift’s 10th full-length studio album and initially held a 13-track standard. Three hours after the album’s arrival, Swift released a deluxe edition (the “3 am Edition”) with seven bonus tracks.
When you take a look at the first-week sales, it totals 1,140 million. Physical sales comprise 980,000: 575,000 on vinyl, 395,000 on CD and 10,000 on cassette. Digital album downloads stand at 161,000.
Taylor Swift now stands shoulders, Barbara Streisand, for the most No. 1 albums among women.
Swift is the sixth act with more than 10 No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200. The Beatles have a record 19 No. 1s, and Jay-Z has 14. Beyoncé’s former No. 1 Renaissance completes the list.
News from the Beehive…
The pop queen surprised fans with her new album Renaissance in July.
An insider disclosed to Page Six that the 41-year-old Cuff It singer was “booking stadiums around the world for the summer of 2023..” Beyoncé seemingly confirmed the rumours at the fifth annual Wearable Art Gala – via a slideshow auction.
The listing read: Celebrating her seventh studio album, Beyoncé has announced that she will be taking ‘Renaissance’ on tour and we are offering an exclusive 2 tickets to see her live from anywhere around the world, courtesy of United Airlines and their Polaris package.
The beehive has been abuzz following this news! Bey’s most recent stadium tour took place in 2018. It was a joint tour with her husband, Jay-Z called the On the Run II Tour. Her last solo stadium tour was 2016 The Formation World Tour.
The concert will allegedly include international dates too!

Return of the (Fenty) Beauty…
For some, news of a Rihanna tour sounds nearly impossible. But fans are optimistic following the release of her new single Lift Me Up (Wakanda Forever). This is Riri’s first solo release since her 8th studio album, ANTI, back in 2016.
And while fans hope for a tour, they can anticipate Rihanna’s long-awaited return to the stage for the 2023 Super Bowl! Her performance will take place on February 12th in Arizona. The mum-of-one has also been spotted heading to the studio recently as she prepares for her halftime performance.
Rihanna has taken a break from music as her focus shifted to her Fenty Beauty lingerie and makeup empires. She has not dropped any solo music since her last studio album ANTI in 2016.
