A 45-year-old suspect was arrested in a major intelligence-led operation in Delft yesterday and is expected to appear in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court tomorrow, 11 June 2026, after officers uncovered drugs with an estimated street value of R1.5 million.
The arrest follows a tip-off from the community about alleged illegal activities at a house in the area.
According to the Hawks, officers recovered 7,000 mandrax tablets, as well as cocaine and tik, during a joint operation.

“In one of the rooms, a brown crossbody bag was found containing 7,000 full mandrax tablets. Upon further search, cocaine and crystal methamphetamine (tik) were also discovered. The estimated value of the drugs is R1.5 million.”

The Hawks further stressed that the arrest highlights ongoing efforts to rid several communities of drugs.
