After weeks of unforgettable matchups, passionate debates and thousands of votes from across Cape Town, the final result is in…

Queen are officially Smile FM’s Best Artist Ever!

What started as 16 of the greatest artists in music history became one of the biggest listener campaigns ever on Smile FM.

Every day, two music legends went head-to-head in a knockout tournament that had listeners debating at home, in the office, on social media and on-air. Every vote mattered as the world’s biggest names battled for survival.

Along the way, some of music’s greatest icons were knocked out.

Michael Jackson. Madonna. Whitney Houston. Prince. ABBA. The Beatles. Bob Marley. Celine Dion. Taylor Swift. Beyoncé and more all fought for a place in the next round, but only one artist could lift the trophy.

The tournament built from an intense Round of 16, through dramatic Quarterfinals and blockbuster Semifinals, before culminating in an epic Grand Final between Queen and Michael Jackson.

In the end after extra time and penalties , Cape Town made its decision.

From the operatic brilliance of Bohemian Rhapsody, to the stadium anthem We Will Rock You, the timeless Don’t Stop Me Now, and the ultimate victory song We Are The Champions, Queen proved that their music continues to unite generations and create unforgettable moments.

This campaign wasn’t just about choosing a winner.

It was about celebrating the artists who have shaped our lives, created the soundtrack to our memories and sparked conversations across the city.

To everyone who voted, debated, shared their opinions and joined the journey—thank you for making The Best Artist Ever one of Smile FM’s most memorable campaigns.

Congratulations to Queen—your Best Artist Ever
