‘Pretty Woman: The Musical’ Makes Its South African Debut in 2026

South African audiences are in for a treat next year when Pretty Woman: The Musical brings one of Hollywood’s most beloved romantic comedies to the stage for the very first time.

The hit Broadway and West End production will open at Artscape in Cape Town on 18 March 2026, before heading to Montecasino’s Teatro in Johannesburg from 24 April. Tickets are now available via showtime.co.za and ticketmaster.co.za.

To sweeten the deal, there’s an Early Bird 20% discount across all price ranges for bookings made between 22 October and 30 November 2025, valid for all Wednesday and Thursday performances.

Brimming with warmth, humour, and romance, the musical reimagines the 1990 film starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere, featuring music by Grammy Award-winner Bryan Adams and songwriting partner Jim Vallance. Fans can look forward to the iconic “Oh, Pretty Woman” alongside an original score packed with pop, rock, and heartfelt ballads.

“This timeless story has captured hearts around the world, and soon local theatre-goers will experience all the romance, humour and heart that made the film a classic,” says Hazel Feldman of Showtime Management, which is producing the show in association with Crossroads Live North America.

The production promises dazzling costumes, high-energy choreography, and all the nostalgia of the ’90s, with a fully South African cast, crew, and band, supported by an international creative team led by Tony Award® winner Jerry Mitchell.

The show carries a PG-12 rating due to mature themes, language, and some sexual content. Discounts are available for group bookings and Terrific Tuesday performances.

Don’t miss your chance to relive this iconic love story on stage. As the line goes, to miss Pretty Woman: The Musical would be a big mistake. Big. Huge.
