Published on

President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to address the country soon, but no exact date has been given.

Acting minister in the presidency, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni earlier gave this assurance to South Africans, as she briefed the media on the outcomes of yesterday’s Cabinet meeting.

Ntshavheni says Cabinet is currently discussing and consulting on possible stricter Covid-19 regulations. Cabinet has expressed its concern over the sharp increase in new Covid-19 cases.

Over 4600 new cases and 102 additional deaths were recorded yesterday, 26 May.

The 9 Premiers of the country are meeting with Ramaphosa on Sunday.
