President Cyril Ramaphosa has appointed advocate Andrea Johnson as the new head of the National Prosecuting Authority’s Investigating Directorate.

According to the Presidency, Johnson takes over from Hermione Cronje at an important time in the country’s effort, to act decisively against individuals involved in state capture and corruption. The president also appointed a permanent Director-General of the State Security Agency. Former deputy energy minister and ambassador, Thembisile Majola, will take over the troubled spy agency, from today.
