Premier Alan Winde says the province is expecting to receive around 260 000 doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which will be distributed immediately to qualifying residents.

Winde says approval is currently still being awaited from the US FDA on if the doses are safe for use in South Africa. He says vaccinators are ready to start administering the doses, once it arrives here.
