Police Investigate Triple Murder in Philippi East Shooting

Police have launched a manhunt following a deadly shooting in the early hours of Saturday morning in Lower Crossroads, Philippi East, that left three people dead and one injured.

 

According to Western Cape police, detectives from the Serious and Violent Crime Unit are investigating three counts of murder and one of attempted murder after two suspects allegedly posed as police officers before opening fire inside a home in Hankomo Street at around 2 am.

 

Emergency services found two men, aged 19 and 20, and a 20-year-old woman dead at the scene. A fourth victim, a 26-year-old woman, sustained gunshot wounds to her arms and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

 

The motive behind the attack is still unknown, and the suspects are currently at large.
