Police have also confirmed that the three men, who were arrested last week for the murder of a 41-year old man in Thornton, will appear in court in Goodwood today. The man was shot and killed in-front of his children, on Monday of last week. The suspects fled the scene in a rented vehicle and were later arrested in Khayelitsha. Police say the getaway vehicle has been linked to a recent house breaking case in Grassy Park and a house robbery in Somerset West.

Police say they are investigating a case of dealing in illegal drugs, after arresting three suspects, over the weekend. Police were acting on a tip-off, about stolen vehicles and fire-arms at a Kraaifontein farm and, upon arrival discovered 272 small dagga plants, 184 dagga trees as well as a large amount of processed dagga. A 37-year old male and a 35-year old female were arrested. A third man was also arrested on the scene, after trying to bribe police officers. All three suspects will appear in the Kuils River Magistrates Court today.

The City has confirmed that it has launched a R 1.4-million civil claim against Gatvol Capetonian and the Economic Freedom Fighters. The City says the two groupings are liable for the cost to repair damaged public infrastructure during violent protests. Executive Mayor Dan Plato says a summons was issued to Gatvol Capetonian on 29 March for over R 1.3-million in damages, related to a protest in the City in August 2019.
