On Monday 16 April, Bobby and Lindy announced that Smile Breakfast would be giving away a VW Polo Vivo Trendline in the Smile 90.4FM Collect Your Key competition. Every weekday morning, for three weeks, Bobby and Lindy announced a ‘KEY SONG’ for the day and instructed listeners to listen out for the ‘KEY SONG’ – the first caller through to the studio who correctly identified the song title and artist, would win an entry into the Collect Your Key competition.

On the final Friday of the competition, all 20 finalists attended a live broadcast from McCarthy Volkswagen in Parow. During the three-hour broadcast, the grand prizewinner of the VW Polo Vivo Trendline was chosen by means of a nail biting reverse draw.

The final three contenders, Rolene Faber from Kraaifontein, Patrick Solomons from Pelican Park and Elton Gouda from Eerste River, placed their hands in the competition box and reached for a key, hoping that it would be the one to turn on the ignition of the brand new VW Polo Vivo Trendline.

Patrick Solomons was the lucky winner of the VW Polo Vivo Trendline, which was proudly sponsored by McCarthy VW Parow. “I am still in shock, I don’t know what to say. I am exhilarated with happiness!” said Patrick.
