Over the past 24-hour monitoring period, the Western Cape reported 443 new covid-19 infections, bringing the province’s overall infection rate to more than 131,000 cases. To date, more than 116,000 people have recovered from the virus, which means that around 9,680 people still have active forms of the virus. 4,671 Western Cape residents have already died due to covid-19 complications.
