Opposition parties have urged the City of Cape Town to come up with a clear plan to assist and provide temporary homes for Langa residents who were displaced after a devastating blaze ripped through the suburb, destroying hundreds of homes.

Firefighters took almost 6 hours to extinguish the blaze. The ANC says fires causing devastation in townships are a reoccurring problem in the city and unless densely populated townships are eradicated and upgraded, the problems will continue to persist.
