One of the country’s top vaccinologists says the behaviour of South Africans will determine when, and how severe, the third wave of Covid-19 will be. Wits University’s Prof Shabir Mahdi is concerned that the third surge of covid-19 infections may hit South Africa sooner than expected. He says cases may start increasing again just after the Easter long-weekend, as people are expected to gather in large numbers.
