A new service provider, for the City’s Urban Baboon Programme, has been appointed, to help with the better management and protection of the animals.
The City’s Directorate of Environment says it has appointed NCC Environmental Services, from the 1st of October under a contract that will run until 30 June 2023.
Mayoral committee member at the Directorate, Marian Niewoudt, says approximately 50 staff will work in the field to monitor the City’s baboon population.
NCC has officially taken over the Urban Baboon Programme.
