More than R1.1-billion has been allocated to mini-bus taxis operators by the Department of Transport.

This is part of the Taxi Relief Fund that is meant to ease the financial strain that public transport operators experienced as a result of the Covid-19 restrictions and lockdown. Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula says taxi operators must apply for the funding and meet the criteria. Taxi operators can log their application at transport.gov.za or SMS 45864.
