A box full of yellow tennis balls placed on a popular beach in Cape Town, has touched many dog lovers’ hearts.

Linda Bamford Hefer and her 17 year old daughter Cayley Hefer placed a box with a message and a picture of their dog Cody on Bloubergstrand, in memory of the 8-year-old Maltese Poodle-Yorkie who recently passed away.

People who visited the popular beach were drawn towards the box, uploading pictures of it on their social media platforms.

Hefer says she did not know that this tribute gesture would touch so many people but she says she feels real grateful for all the beautiful comments by everyone who has shared it.
Linda says it was her daughter Cayley who came up with the idea to leave a tribute for Cody after his traumatic sudden death from pancreatitis.
