Members of the Monetary Policy Committee of the South African Reserve Bank are meeting, to discuss whether to raise the repo rate, for possibly the second time this year.

The repo rate is currently at 4 %. In January it was raised by 25 basis points. Stats SA has meanwhile confirmed that annual consumer inflation in February has held steady at 5,7%. FNB Economist, Koketso Mano says this might be a preview of a repo rate increase.
