[LISTEN] Zirk Botha Rowing to Rio For The Environment

Capetonian Zirk Botha, is set to depart on a 7000km solo transatlantic row to Rio de Janeiro. The 59 year old former South African navy officer and adventure sportsman, is undertaking the journey to create awareness about the potential and importance of renewable energy. Botha built his boat in his backyard and named it ‘Ratel’, which is the Afrikaans name for honey badger.

Ahead of his launch from Granger Bay on Saturday 5 December at 9am, Botha caught up with Bobby and Lindy to tell them about the monumental adventure:
