The Western Cape Department of Health has released a detailed plan for Phase 2 of its Covid-19 vaccine roll-out programme, which will see over 26 600 residents being vaccinated daily between May and October.

Speaking during the province’s weekly digicon, Head of Health Dr. Keith Cloete revealed that the province expects to receive just over 6 million vaccines during this period.

He says vaccination sites have been identified, vaccinators have been trained, and teams will even assist residents to register for a vaccine, if they don’t have access to technology.

The Minister of Health Zweli Mkhize last week announced the general public would be able to register on the EVDS system as of 16 April.
