The national Department of Health has announced the extension of the life-span of its batch of Johnson & Johnson Covid-19 vaccines.

The batch was expected to expire this week.

The Department says stability studies indicated the batch’s shelf-life could be extended until the end of September.

Spokesperson, Popo Molefe said there were less than 50-thousand doses of the batches left in the country.

The doses are expected to be used by the end of the week.
