Kitshoff to return to the Stormers sooner than expected

Published on

Stormers coach John Dobson joined the Ryan O’Connor Breakfast Show ahead of their URC semi final clash against Connacht tomorrow.

One big talking point was that of captain Steven Kitshoff and his imminent departure to Ulster.

In a Smile FM exclusive – Dobbo hinted that Kitsie will return to the Cape a lot sooner than expected.

Kitshoff, who has made 73 appearances for his country, will make Ulster his home until at least the summer of 2026 following his involvement in the upcoming Rugby World Cup, in which he will be looking to repeat the winning ways of the last campaign.

Meanwhile, the DHL Stormers will have one goal in mind when they meet Connacht tomorrow – to deliver a top-class performance that will secure them a place in the Grand Final in two weeks’ time and a shot at defending the title they won last season.

The DHL Stormers and Connacht will kick off the top-four action at the DHL Stadium at 16h00 on Saturday, with Irish arch-rivals, Leinster and Munster, going head-to-head in the other semi-final at 18h30 at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.

If you are going along to the DHL Stadium tomorrow, arrive early.

Spectators are encouraged to note road closures, make use of the available public transport options and to arrive early to avoid congestion and long queues upon entry into the venue.

Gates open at 13:30, well ahead of the kick-off time which is 16:00.

As a once-off, the Stadium has catered for tickets at a special rate of R390 per person on the West Stand.

This ticket price includes a seat on the halfway line and access to a cash and snack bar.

Stormers v Connacht road closures:

Sonnenberg Road, Vlei Road, Stephan Way and Fort Wynyard Street will all be closed from 06:00 until 22:30, with restrictions on Helen Suzman Boulevard, Beach Road, Buitengracht Street and Granger Bay Boulevard.

Parking:

There will be dedicated parking available in the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) P1 parking area for R100 pre-booked and R120 card on entry, with a free MyCiTi shuttle.

There is also free public parking available on a first-come first-served basis at the Civic Centre from 12:00.

There are free MyCiTi shuttle services between the DHL Stadium and both the Civic Centre and Thibault Square and CTICC bus stations, which will be available for all those with a match tickets.
