Illegal land occupations near Grabouw are undermining important commercial forestry project, says the Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure, Patricia de Lille.

The minister visited the community over the weekend to hear first-hand what their grievances are and to make a plan to resolve them. The department has allocated certain parts of the land to the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Environmental Affairs, which uses it mainly for plantation purposes. De Lille’s department was notified earlier, that certain parts of the land were illegally occupied.
