How to get your FIFA World Cup tickets

Ready, set and score -tickets for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar are going up for sale on 05 July 2022. The World Cup kicks off on Monday 21 November 20221 this is the second sales period.

South African fans will recall that FIFA World Cup tickets are allocated in a random draw. According to the FIFA website: “Tickets are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis subject to availability, and applicants may purchase tickets online at any time during the entire sales period. Ticket purchases are processed as a real-time transaction. Tickets will be allocated directly to the ticket applicants after payment is received, and they will immediately receive a confirmation email.”

You can start your ticket application on the FIFA website and the applications open at 11 am (CAT &CET) on 05 July 2022.

Qatari fans will be first in line for tickets. Like all previous World Cups, there is a special category of tickets available only to residents of the host nation. For this tournament fans in the Gulf Arab state have bought the largest number of tickets.

FIFA said that in the first round of ticket sales, 1.8 million tickets. As expected there was a rush for tickets featuring the home side Qatar, but FIFA says the top countries where fans bought tickets are Canada, England, France, Germany, India, Saudi Arabia, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States.

This round of ticket sales will remain open until 16 August 2022 so this is your best chance to secure your seat in Qatar.

FIFA has confirmed that there is only a total of 3 million tickets available for fans for this World Cup tournament.
