Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize says the country may have temporarily suspended the further rollout of the Johnson & Johnson covid-19 vaccine, but he has stressed that it’s just a precautionary measure. Mkhize says after consultations with advisory teams, and ethics committees, as well as Sahpra and the Ministerial Advisory Committee, it was decided that more information is needed before the country proceeds with the mass roll out of the vaccine. The minister however seems confident that it will only be a few days’ delay before the resumption of the vaccine drive.
