Health minister Dr Zweli Mkhize says in the latest monitoring period, 712 Covid-19 related fatalities have been recorded in the past 24 hours. This comes after 806 deaths were announced on Wednesday, and 755 deaths on Tuesday. This means that 2 273 people have been confirmed to have died from Covid-19 related illnesses in just three days. Mkhize says 18 503 new Covid-19 infections have been recorded in the past 24 hours. Meanwhile, the recovery rate is 80,9%.
