Former president Jacob Zuma has launched a new legal challenge to Acting Chief Justice Raymond Zondo’s appointment as the State Capture Inquiry’s chairperson – just days before the first commission report was released.

Zuma is aggrieved about the commission’s application for a Constitutional Court order that he must appear before it, as well as its subsequent successful application to have him jailed for contempt on that order. According to Zuma, the applications demonstrate that Zondo’s, conduct in relation to him was biased.
