Five people arrested over Matthew Perry’s death

Published on

Five people have been arrested in connection with the Friends actor Matthew Perry’s drug-related death. At the same time, three of the five, who have been charged in connection with his death have pleaded guilty to the charges. His personal assistant is among the 5 people who were detained.

It’s alleged that Perry’s assistant had paid doctors thousands of dollars to buy Ketamine and inject the actor with the drug. The US State Attorney Martin Estrada claims the accused tried to cover their tracks after Perry’s death in October last year.

High doses of the drug, days before his death

US Police announced yesterday that their investigation has revealed Perry’s assistant paid doctors thousands for the drug Ketamine and injected the Friends star with high doses of the drug, days before his death.

THE BBC ALSO REPORTED: However, the arrest of five people including medical doctors, Perry’s assistant and an alleged dealer US prosecutors have described as the “Ketamine Queen”, has shed light on an alleged vast ketamine-dealing underground network, cover-up attempts – and another death, too.

Dr Salvador Plasencia – one of those accused of supplying the actor with ketamine – allegedly called him “a moron” and wondered how much to charge him for the drug – eventually, more than 165 times its price, according to prosecutors. (By Christal Hayes, BBC News, Los Angeles)

Perry died at his Los Angeles home in October and a post-mortem found a high concentration of ketamine.

CNN ALSO REPORTED: Five people have been charged according to a press release from the US Attorney’s office in Los Angeles. The actor died in October 2023 as a result of “acute effects of ketamine” and subsequent drowning. The defendants include two doctors, Perry’s live-in personal assistant and a person referred to by authorities as “The Ketamine Queen.”
