Fight for the River Club redevelopment is heading to the Court of Appeal

The fight over the redevelopment of the River Club in Observatory is heading to the Supreme Court of Appeal. The Liesbeek Leisure Properties Trust has filed an urgent leave to appeal application, to overturn the High Court interdict which halted construction on the project. The other respondents in the case, the Western Cape Government, the City of Cape Town and the Western Cape First Nations Collective also filed appeals. The Trust’s spokesperson James Tannenberger:
