Tamia and Adele
“Their songs were written and sang beautifully. Timeless classics, whether it was about love or heartbreak, it always went in! You felt it and you still feel them now”.
Dame Shirley Bassey
“She has such a powerful and distinct voice, not to mention her range and emotive delivery – unforgettable! All this has kept her relevant and successful. As a black artist, she broke barriers and paved the way for future generations. One of my truest symbols of empowerment and perseverance”.
Madonna, Sade and too many to mention…
“It’s too hard to pick one! These are my all-time favourites: Sade, Whitney Houston, Madonna, Gloria Estefan and Basia”.

Lady Gaga
“My favourite woman in music is Lady Gaga. She was the very first international act I saw when I watched her perform in 2012 in Cape Town. I had a blast! She has always been a vocal advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community”.
Kate Bush
“Her sheer musical genius as a songwriter, producer and performer paved the way for many musicians such as Bjork, Tori Amos & Radiohead. She is utterly unique, and I loved her from my first listen. Thank you to “Stranger Things” for bringing her brilliance to a new and younger audience!”
(obviously) Whitney Houston
She is an amazing artist with a beautiful voice. I remember when she was using, I told everybody she will make a comeback. This when she released the I Look To You album. I felt that she was singing from her heart and also a cry for help in the songs she sang.

“All these artists have demonstrated undeniable craft and skill; ability to remain relevant; have diversified; and continue to influence and inspire other artists, and they are incredibly entertaining”.
We couldn’t leave without mentioning these heavyweights
“Here are my suggestions: Pink, Shania Twain, Aretha Franklin, Lauryn Hill, Annie Lennox”.
