Breakout star, Angus Cloud, best known for his role on the HBO drama Euphoria, has died at the age of 25. His family confirmed his death on Monday.
Cloud played drug dealer Fezco ‘Fez’ O’Neil in the show.
He reportedly died at his family home in California. Media reports indicate that the Oakland Fire Department responded to a medical emergency in the morning, but found the patient ‘already deceased’.
The cause of death remains unknown and is under active investigation.
Family says goodbye to ‘an incredible human’
“It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today,” read a statement from Cloud’s family.
Cloud had reportedly just buried his father last week. According to the family, Cloud struggled “immensely” with the loss.
“As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways … The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence”, the family statement continued.

Cloud shared this image of his father just two weeks ago. He wrote ‘miss u breh’ in the caption.
A breakout star deeply missed
Cloud reportedly did not act before joining the Euphoria cast. The story goes, he was simply walking in New York when a casting scout plucked him from the streets. Cloud was resistant at first, suspecting a scam. But after meeting with the casting director and series creator, he went on to become a co-star alongside a talented cast in its first two seasons.
An HBO Spokesperson told CBS News that they are “incredibly saddened to learn of the passing of Angus Cloud. He was immensely talented and a beloved part of the HBO and Euphoria family. We extend our deepest condolences to his friends and family during this difficult time”.
To many fans, Cloud seemed to be a natural in the role as Fez. They even suspected he was identical to the character – a myth Cloud often pushed back against.
He was recently cast to co-star in Scream 6.
