EPL trophy coming to Cape Town

The English Premier League (EPL) trophy is coming to Cape Town. It’s part of a “festival of football” hosted by Manchester City which is taking place on 15 and 16 October 2022.

These are the details that were listed on the Manchester City website.

The event will be held at Central Park, Century City, where fans will have the opportunity to:

  • Create a 360 degree video with the real Premier League trophy
  • Become part of their dream 5-a-side team in augmented reality
  • Meet former defender Joleon Lescott
  • Meet club mascot Moonchester
  • Win a signed shirt

From 10am until 3.30pm, the festival will be open to all fans on a first come first served basis.

The event will include the chance for 5-12 year olds to take part in coaching clinics with Manchester City coaches (participation via sign up at the event on the day).

The screening event will then kick off at 4pm and have limited capacity.

Fans signed up for the match screening are still welcome to join the festival earlier in the day and will be given a wristband on entry.

10am: Event and all activities open – first come first served entry
10.10am: Football clinics start (sign up on day, 5-12 year olds)
3pm: Q&A with Joleon Lescott
3.30pm: Football clinics finish
4pm: Screening event starts – pre-registration needed – wristband will be required
4.30pm: Q&A and pre-match analysis with Joleon Lescott
5.30pm: Liverpool v Manchester City kick off!
7.15pm: Full time and event closes

The trophy and Joleon will also be visiting Totalsports, Canal Walk Mall, between 4pm and 6pm on Saturday 15 October for photos and signing.

This is also a chance for Manchester City fans to get together and watch their clash with Liverpool which will take place on Sunday 16 October.
