The Deputy President has, in his capacity as the chairperson of the South African National Aids Council, urged key role players to demonstrate the same urgency and unity of purpose during Covid-19 in the quest to defeat TB. Mabuza was giving a keynote address at the World TB Day commemoration in Barkley West. He said it’s disheartening that “even though TB is preventable and curable, it remains one of the leading causes of death in this country”.
