President Cyril Ramaphosa says the country’s armed forces have played a pivotal role in ensuring residents’ safety over the past 2 years.

Ramaphosa was speaking during the commemoration of Armed Forces Day.

He says members of the SA National Defence Force are always ready and eager to protect the lives and property of South Africans.

The President says the country’s defence forces have, over the past few years, showed their steel in promoting peace and stability in Southern Africa.

Members of the SANDF, currently deployed to other African nations, are there to restore stability and prevent a spill-over of the conflict into other countries.
