C.T. water-tariffs may soon be reduced

Published on

The City’s Directorate of Water, says Capetonians may soon see a downward adjustment in their water tariffs.

The Directorate says the recent above-average winter rainfall has seen the City’s dams reach their 100% capacity, for the first time in several years.

This increase in dam-levels may see a relaxation of water-tariffs and restrictions, which have been in place since a severe drought hit the Mother City a few years ago.

Mayoral Committee member at the Directorate, Xanthea Limberg, says tariffs are currently at their second-lowest level, with a decision to possibly lower tariffs, to be made in the next few weeks.
