One person has died and six others were left injured after a serious crash on the R61 road between Komani and Takastad on Saturday. Police confirmed that a Toyota Rush SUV, travelling from Takastad towards Komani with seven occupants, lost control and overturned about five kilometres outside Komani. The Ravensmead Community can look forward to having access to a new state-of-the-art clinic by mid-2026. The Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness states that the construction of the Community Day Centre (CDC) is on track. Provincial MEC Mireille Wenger recently visited the site to assess the construction progress. The new clinic will replace the current one that can no longer meet the needs of the growing Ravensmead community.
