      The Bonteheuwel community is mourning, following the passing of a four-year-old boy, who was struck by a vehicle on Sunday.     Western Cape SAPS confirmed the incident, noting that the young boy was hit by a vehicle at 17:05 in Blackberry Street.     He was rushed to a local medical facility, where Bonteheuwel ward councillor Angus Mackenzie said he was declared dead on arrival.    “Police members were called to

  The Supreme Court of Appeal has dismissed an appeal by a group of private doctors seeking to overturn a decision allowing trained pharmacists to prescribe and manage HIV medication.   In a judgment delivered electronically on 9 October 2025, the court found that the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) acted lawfully and rationally when it approved the Pharmacist-Initiated Management of Antiretroviral Therapy (PIMART) programme.   The appeal was brought by the Independent Practitioners Association

  Four suspects have now been arrested for the hijacking and murder of LEAP officer, Yonke Pakade.   Pakade, who was off-duty, was brutally attacked in Philippi East on Sunday.   Following the attack, his colleagues responded to the scene in Sheffield Road, where Pakade’s vehicle was found abandoned.   The 26-year-old was eventually found in the Marikana Informal Settlement, as he had tried to flee his attackers.
