Police have secured an arrest in the brutal murder of four men in Du Noon last month.
This is in connection with the assault of the victims, who were then set alight on the N7 highway to Malibongwe Drive on 23 August.

Officers attached to the Tactical Response Team managed to trace a suspect down in Du Noon, arresting a 44-year-old man just before midnight on Thursday night.
“The circumstances surrounding the incident prompted an intensive investigation by detectives from the Provincial Serious Violent Crime Unit. The investigation subsequently led detectives to a person of interest after valuable information was pursued,” read the Western Cape SAPS statement.
The suspect is due in court on Monday, facing four counts of murder. Police say there is a possibility of more arrests, as the investigation into the murders continues. Detectives are still trying to establish the motive and circumstances of the murders.
Western Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Sizakhele Dyantyi, welcomed the arrests, noting that the manner in which the victims were killed is deeply concerning.
“I have confidence that the investigating team will continue to follow every available lead to establish the full circumstances surrounding these murders. Those who believe they can take the law into their own hands and escape justice should take note that our investigators will pursue them,” said Dyantyi.
